1st IEEE International Conference on Communication and Industrial Application ICCIA-2011

ICCIA‐2011 was the 1st IEEE International Conference on Communication and Industrial Application, a first break through initiative that had been taken by Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India. The conference aimed at bringing together all ECE/IT/Computer professionals, researchers, academicians, industrial people and valued users on a common platform to discuss the niches and nuances of communication to assess its current state and role in the global scenario.

The concept of the conference was inspired by the Chairman, IEEE Communication Society, Kolkata Chapter, Region‐10, to whom the Institute had appealed for IEEE technical assistance. The concept seeded in the month of June 2011 and materialized in the month of December 2011. It was a great challenge for the Institute to organize such an International Conference within a short span of only six months. However, the institute did show its ability to make the conference a great success. The venue of conference was selected to be held at Science City, in the City of Joy, Kolkata on 26‐28 December 2011. 2011-11-26 2011-11-28

This international conference covered many multidisciplinary areas in Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with application areas of networking, wireless sensors, measurement technologies, transducers and microprocessor based systems and interrelated sectors that are strategically important for the overall economic and social growth all over the world. The vision of the conference was to provide awareness about the recent advances in the Information and communication technology along with interrelated technology domains through keynote addresses, plenary lectures, tutorials and pre‐reviewed research papers.

The conference had received 168 research papers from University students, researchers and young scientists for presentation in the conference from aboard and across the country. After several rounds of meticulous review and scrutiny by highly experienced and revered academicians of national and international universities, about 50 papers were accepted for oral presentation and 10 papers for the poster presentation.
